The Canadian Government operates a Study Permit Program for persons who wants to study in Canada. Amongst other things, a successful applicant must be both a genuine temporary entrant and a genuine student.<\/p>\n
An applicant who is a genuine temporary entrant will have circumstances that support a genuine intention to enter and remain in Canada temporarily, notwithstanding the potential for this intention to change over time to an intention to utilize lawful means to remain in Canada for an extended period or permanently.<\/p>\n
Remember when you apply for either an admission into any college or university in Canada or a study permit application to Canada, please ensure that your Statement of Purpose (SOP) to the case officer must detail out any or all of the questions raised in the (GTE) criterion below.<\/p>\n
This may well be the reason between a failed application and one that is successful.<\/p>\n
Ask the agent to take your personal circumstances and then assist you to write and research for the statement of Purpose.<\/p>\n
Circumstances where further scrutiny may be appropriate include but are not limited to:<\/p>\n
An application for a Study permit\u00a0must be refused\u00a0<\/strong>if, after weighing up the applicant\u2019s circumstances, immigration history and any other relevant matter, the decision maker is not satisfied that the applicant genuinely intends a temporary stay in Canada.<\/p>\n Immigration case officers must take into account the applicant\u2019s circumstances in their home country and the applicant\u2019s potential circumstances in Canada.<\/p>\n In considering the applicant\u2019s circumstances in their home country, decision makers must have regard to the following factors:\u00a0(these factors must be addressed in the statement of Purpose by the applicant).<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n For primary applicants of Study Permit, decision makers must also have regard to the value of the course to the applicant\u2019s future.<\/p>\n Decision makers will take notice of the following factors in considering the value of the course to the applicant\u2019s future:\u00a0(these factors must be addressed in the statement of Purpose by the applicant).<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Weight should be placed on an applicant\u2019s circumstances that indicate that the Study permit is intended primarily for maintaining residence in Canada.<\/p>\n In considering the applicant\u2019s potential circumstances in Canada, decision makers must have regard to the following factors:\u00a0(these factors must be addressed in the statement of Purpose by the applicant).<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/strong>An applicant\u2019s immigration history refers both to their visa and travel history.<\/p>\n In considering the applicant\u2019s immigration history, decision makers must have regard to the following factors:<\/p>\n What is Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) Criteria?
